At the knit shop, the one lady told me that they don’t teach cast-on until the 2nd lesson because when they taught it at the 1st lesson, no one came to class with a 7” knitted thingie - they’d rip it up and start over - repeatedly.

So, after my 2nd lesson, where we were taught cast-off, cast-on and purl, we left after being told to bring 7” purled for Thursday.  I don’t even have 1” yet.  I keep ripping it up and starting over.  I’m going to suggest to them saving cast-on until the 3rd and final  lesson.
